Spring Cleaning Your Nervous System

Spring Cleaning Isn’t Just for Closets…

As the seasons shift, many of us feel the urge to declutter our homes, open the windows, and freshen up our space.

But there’s another kind of clutter we carry that doesn’t get talked about enough:

…the stress we store in our nervous system.

Winter often puts us into survival mode—less movement, more tension, shorter days, and a heavier emotional load from the holiday season.

Even if life has been “fine,” your body may still be holding onto the pressure of everything you pushed through.

Spring is a powerful time to reset—not by forcing change, but by creating more safety in your body.

What Does a “Nervous System Spring Cleaning” Look Like?

Unlike cleaning a room, you don’t just throw stress away.

Instead, you gently signal to your body:
“You don’t have to stay on high alert anymore.”
“You are safe.”

This kind of reset often shows up as:

  • less tension in the jaw, shoulders, and stomach

  • fewer racing thoughts at night

  • improved mood and patience

  • more energy without the feeling of pushing

  • feeling more present in your day

Signs Your Nervous System Might Need a Reset

You may be carrying more than you realize if you’ve been experiencing:

  • feeling tired but unable to truly rest

  • increased irritability or emotional sensitivity

  • difficulty focusing or staying motivated

  • feeling “on edge” for no clear reason

  • tight chest, shallow breathing, or digestive issues

  • feeling disconnected or numb

If you experience any of these…..nothing is wrong with you.

They often mean your body has been doing its job—protecting you.
